A fellow of the Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors and an Honours member of the Institute of Revenues Rating and Valuation, who also run his runs his own London based practice, Whitby Smith, Chartered Surveyors, specialising in UK commercial property and advice.
Michael previously was a national partner of what is now CBRE for 15 years, before his last firm CB Hiller Parker was sold in the 1980’s when he then set up his own London commercial practice.
Michael was educated at the College of Estate Management, London, which was absorbed into Reading University, now UCEM, as a Chartered Surveyor and Chartered Auctioneer.
He has acted over the years for most of the large UK retail companies and many landlords, from Marks and Spencer to the Virgin group, as well as helping to design and let 21 major UK shopping centres.
He now advises companies as diverse as the LSE to Amnesty International.

A Chartered Secretary and Fellow of ICSA, runs her own governance practice Round Governance Services.
She has over 15 years of experience as a governance practitioner in listed, quoted and large private organisational structures in the UK.
Kerry is also an Associate Lecturer on the MSc Governance at the University of Lincoln and was shortlisted for the ICSA Governance Professional of the Year 2019 and named as an Innovator in the Governance Hot 100 list 2020.
